Our 15-Year Anniversary Perseverance Campaign
First Tee – Coastal Carolinas, a non-profit youth organization that positively impacts tens of thousands of youth in the coastal Carolinas through the game of golf, has launched new fundraising campaign to help meet the challenges of the coronavirus pandemic and continue its life-skills programs for kids.
The First Tee curriculum is grounded in a set of core values – Courtesy, Judgment, Honesty, Integrity, Sportsmanship, Respect, Confidence, Responsibility and Perseverance – as well as life and leadership skills exemplified by the game of golf.
First Tee, a national organization with 150 chapters, has a proven impact. After three years in the program, First Tee alumni reported that 73 percent had high confidence in their academic abilities, 82 percent felt confident in their social skills with peers, and 52 percent credited the program for their ability to appreciate diversity.
First Tee – Coastal Carolinas delivers its programs through local schools, after-school programs at local golf courses, clinics and other special events.
“The Perseverance Campaign has been launched digitally through emails and social media,” said Shannon Parks, a long-time FTCC staff member in Brunswick County. “We’ll be featuring video testimonials by some of the young people who have gained so much from our programs.”
